Google TV Adds

November 5th 2007

Have you all seen the new introduction of Google TV Adds? Briljant. I hope this comes to us rathers sooner than later since I think that it would be easy to run a TV campaign. One thing that Google does briljantly is tap into the vast amount of spendable communication dollars that would normally not be used on TV commercials. This seems like a good idea but I beg to differ.

I have done my studies in communication and management and I have always learnt that you need to have a critical mass before you reach the goal you wish to reach. So if you count on running a cheap campaign in order to stay on budget you could be left in the rain. Running a campaign on Google TV Adds could, when you run it on a tight budget, be a waste of money. But because you can does not meen you should.

The big benefits of this is that you do not need to pay retail for your adds, you can have more impression for the same budget, it is easy to manage, you can easilly track you results.

The drawbacks are you do not know you will reach youraudience (unless you pay top dollar), and you will be tempted to spend money without any results.

Google TV Adds, a good initiative in a world full of opportunities.

I’m disaapointed at marketing

October 28th 2007

Why o why do all marketeers try to call things very commonly known other names? What wil it help me to have to figure out what web ‘n walk means. Why don’t they just call it complete internet? Why is a car with a slightly bigger wheel an SUV instead of a slightly bigger car with al slightly bigger wheel? If it makes sense, sure give it another name. Otherwise, please stick to your language. It would make things a lot easier more understandable an probalby more profittable. Why… just ask.

Millionblogs a pyramid scheme.

October 10th 2007

Could it be possible to do more with my budget? London based entrepreneur Marius Loredan thinks he has found the key. Marius has thought about how he could promote his business. He can only generate as much traffic as his budget alows him. So he figured he should use the rest of us to help eachother.

It is all based on the thought: “A page is only a page, it will be indexed only once by search engines, how much info can you add to a single page? How can you run a business from only a single page? but with a blog site, you can add a lot of information”

MillionBlogs.org allows users to create their own fully functional weblog based on the word/phrase purchased. It should be useful because users could sell/rent advertising space for other interested webmasters and the visitors will find MillionBlogs as an unique informational platform with news and info from various sources.

“I would like to believe that MillionBlogs.org will become a very popular informational platform with blogs providing the latest news from different niches, a place where you don’t have to access 20 different websites to get the info you want.”

Marius, this is what we all are used to call “The Internet”. You can have your own keyword (a domainname), you own your site, you are allowed to sell your own blog, sell your own advertising etcetera. What is new? The only thing I see is that you are creating an artificial scarcity and in return I get the benefit that others will be contributing to my marketing budget? This is in my opinion not more than a pyramid scheme.
